On Armistice Day, November 11, 1920, a monument erected on the public square was dedicated to the men and women who served their country in World War I. That monument, the 'doughboy' or the 'statue', has become the symbol of the Village. It is our reference point. We are the town with the statue in the square. Those who have left, when they visit this site and see this picture think of home. To them it is a beckoning.
